Simple yet effective designs
Web site development has gone through many changes over the
last decade. The internet has evolved from a simple exchange
of text based information to an unorganized mess of information,
images and multimedia. More and more, websites are becoming
full featured web applications that act and feel like a web
site, yet have the power of a full blown application (program
on your computer). Over the next few years we will see a dramatic
marriage between the traditional applications on our desktops
and web applications hosted on the internet. On the simplest
level, web applications are dynamic
websites that process a request on a remote server and respond
to your computer with the requested information. Web sites
that just present information like a virtual brochure are
called static web sites.
Today, internet users are browsing and searching the internet
for very specific current information. If you are in business
and offer a service or sell a product, your visitors will
want to not only read what you are offering, but they will
also want to see and possibly hear about your services and/or
products without having to learn how to use your site.
My primary focus when designing a website is to display my
client’s content in the best possible way for their
potential customers. I also feel that if my clients are motivated
to keep their web site updated, then they should consider
adding a dynamic, database
driven web site, that they can easily edit with fresh content
by updating their text, images, audio, and video without having
to deal with the complications of a static
website or having to pay the ongoing expense of hiring a developer
to make every little change. By the way, maintenance is where
most web developers make a good chunk of their money.
I, on the other hand, want to develop a website that works
for you, not against you and your wallet. I want to add features
that your visitors will find useful and convenient while providing
you with the tools to maintain your site. Feel free to take
a look at my local competitors
to find the right developer for you, or give
me a call and see if my talents and services fit your
needs.
Sincerely,
Joshua Martyn
